Wow, I can't believe this only took you 2 weeks! I can't put into words how amazing it is, it's so realistic. All I can say is that these are my favourite animals and you've certainly done them justice, thank you for creating something so beautiful! :)
:iconkrats:
Hehe, I work quick and I had some excellent reference. They only got a 'B' tho :P
:iconsovereign:
What?! What kind of person would give you a B! It couldn't possibly be any better!
:iconbrightwash:
why did you get a b...did the prof tell you why? i think it is very good.
check out my site please and feel free to critique...i cut my theeth on animal images...

In this case it's because some of the areas are overly bleached and you lose detail in the fur. Some things happen in photographs that can be recreated in paint for effect, but what's the point in recreating reality?

This piece was done more as a technical exercise than 'Art' and as such it is fairly successful but I was studying Illustration so there was more I could have done to the image to make it fall inline with my course's direction/goals.

Nice image but I slightly misjudged my target audience.

You knock me of my socks... :faint: This is amazing work. The realism is just, well, just perfect! I dont know what else to say about it. The fur texture looks so good. This makes me want to start painting, but also discourages me because I could never get this good fast enough (I'm impatient when it comes to learning new stuff...). Really good. A definite fav!

Thanks Linda, very kind words.

Realism isn't so hard when you have good reference. Looking at your pencil work I reckon you could pick this stuff up pretty quick :D

I will give painting a try one day, because I've been wanting to for many years. Have to make some time though. Untill then I will look at pieces like this to inspire me!
